30. Drive a Convertible

It really pays to have friends with good tastes in cars! Not only did I get to drive this, but I drove it on the right side of the road, which is the wrong side (for me). It was exhilarating and just a little bit scary. I don't think I could ever own a car like this, I would be too terrified to drive it, but I can at least cross it off the list! October 2012.

17. Live in Japan for a Year

In 2001 I did a homestay in Saga Prefecture for 2 weeks. I spoke absolutely no Japanese at the time, and my host family didn't speak English. The experience inspired me to study Japanese, and eventually led to the dream of living in Japan. So, in July 2011 I packed up my life and moved to Miyazaki, Japan to teach English on the JET Program. 6 years later, I am still living in Japan!

11. Join Rotaract

In 2007 I was fortunate enough to be selected for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program (YEP) and spent a year in Nevada, USA. It turned out to be one of the best years of my life, and I am truly grateful to Rotary for giving me the opportunity. Ever since then, I have been interested in joining Rotary, to give back to the community that supported me. I finally got around to joining Rotaract in October 2011.
