11. Join Rotaract

In 2007 I was fortunate enough to be selected for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program (YEP) and spent a year in Nevada, USA. It turned out to be one of the best years of my life, and I am truly grateful to Rotary for giving me the opportunity. Ever since then, I have been interested in joining Rotary, to give back to the community that supported me.

I finally got around to joining Rotaract in October 2011.

The Motivation

Welcome to my motivation. My name is Jacki and I will be your guide today. If you take a look to your left you may notice your left shoulder, which has nothing to do with this blog, but if you keep reading I promise I will not bore you with any more jokes. I recently attended a personal development camp which encouraged us to write a list of 100 goals that we would like to achieve within our lifetime. A list that we can work towards that will make our lives more fulfilling and keep us on track for becoming our dreams. Sounds like a great idea, until you start writing. Let me tell you, it is not an easy task thinking of 100 things that would make you life better. I hope my list will inspire your own thoughts, and that you will be as successful as I hope to be.

34. Crochet a blanket

One of my favourite blankets still to this day is one that mum crocheted. It is so warm and colourful! There is just something about hand-made things that makes them that much more enjoyable. Crocheting my own blanket was always going to be a monstrous task, mostly because I get bored of things easily. I think this may have taken me over a year to complete. I would give up, then come back to it, then give up again, but finally I finished it! After I completed it, I gave it to one of my good friends in Canada. As it was my first blanket I made a lot of mistakes so it has probably fallen apart by now, sorry B! I really want to make a second one and keep it for myself, but I still haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe one day! Goal completed 16 June, 2013.

1. Write 100 goals

Done and done. This is my 100 goals list, hanging on my wall in celebration. It will be a long journey but I look forward to it. Goal number 1 complete.
